CHANGE

18 days...18 DAYS!!! I can barely believe it, but will take it all in anyway ;) I'm looking so forward to having Troy home!! How great shall be my joy when I can look at his cute face in real life instead of pictures!! He'll be flying in to SLC on May 8. I'm so stinkin' excited!!
I've been staying really busy which helps tremendously in passing the time. I have been cleaning like crazy, since my room mate is moving out and Troy is moving in. Don't get concerned...I'm moving out as well. But not really. I'm going to be staying down the street with a cute friend of mine until the wedding but all of our things will stay here since this is our cute little home.
I've been painting and rearranging and redecorating and having loads of fun. So...here are some new pictures.
I'm going to get some vinyl lettering that says, "Tell me the stories of Jesus, I love to hear" and put it in our living room wall with the figurines that my mom started giving me shortly after I was baptized. I love every one of them. I really like the wall behind the white shelves and picture frame. We're going to move our TV downstairs, so this room will be for chatting, FHE, family prayer, etc.

And here we have our fun kitchen. I love the wreath on the wall. Our centerpieces and some of the decor for our reception are the twig things with the stars and beads like that wreath. Fun, huh!?

NEW LIGHT FIXTURE!! Thanks to Joe, who is great, we have light in the kitchen. The old one was beyond the point of having value as an antique. As a matter of fact, there was a small piece of wood that the wiring was wrapped around. Scary...very scary. Thankfully the blessings of Heaven are upon our home!!

Thanks to Joe, yet again, we were able to get new light fixtures AND plug ins and light switches. It was a fabulous change to this little old house that had yucky old switches and dirty brown plug ins.

And then, there is the yard!! I wish I would have taken more pictures last year...but I didn't. There are over 100 rosebushes in the yard and I've posted an add on Craigslist to all who would like to pay 5 dollars, bring their own shovel, dig up their rosebush and go on their merry little way. So far, it's been quite successful. I'm hoping we can get 3 trees out of here, since 2 are pine trees. One is tearing up the driveway, another is huge and takes up a large amount of the yard in the back, and the other has a vine that is choking it out. In the pictures I posted last June, you can see the tree with the vine and the pine tree that is doing so much damage in the picture of the front of the house.
My dad came to visit last week and helped me SO much in getting rid of some extra, unnecessary foliage. Check it out!!!
Before:
This picture was taken last June. The pine tree and the tree in the right corner are the two I'd love to get rid of. Then of course, the one poking up over the house in the back yard.
After: This is the pile...it's more treacherous than it looks. I swear! There's a pine tree-ish shrub and about 5 rosebushes, as well as lots of lots of branches!
This bush is going away too...as soon as I have a strong set of arms to help me :)
Well, Troy will most definitely be home now before I know it. I'm glad he'll be able to see a maintained yard instead of a...well...overgrown one. We still have lots of work to do, but I look forward to doing it together!!!
Love you all! Thank you so much for your love and continued support!!
