Save the date!!!

Hey guys!!! and girls!! I hope as you are reading this message, you will not only gain the words it contains, but the Spirit of it.

Troy is down to almost 3 and a half months of time in the mission field!! Can you believe it!? I never thought I'd be writing this post! I thought it'd be another eternity before he'd actually be almost ready to come home! I am so grateful for his mission and know it has and will continue to prepare us for our lives as eternal companions and parents of children that our Father in Heaven will bless us abundantly to receive. I am so grateful for the Atonement of Jesus Christ and His perfect love for me, and for Troy as well as all of those who we love and have grown to trust and rely on. I am thankful for families and the opportunity to be eternal. I love this Gospel with every ounce of my being and look forward to the day when I can enter the Temple and be sealed to a man who I have loved for so long, but never really understood the impact and significance he has in my life. He is my best friend, and no matter how bad I mess up or how hard I fall, he is one of the few that I know will always be there. I can't wait until we can kneel across from each other and pledge eternity, to one another and to our Father in Heaven. I am eternally thankful for the tears that were shed, the long nights on my knees pleading for comfort and strength to go on, and the "EMAIL MONDAYS" that provided the needed boost to get through another 7 days before another reassuring, uplifting letter was needed yet again. That precious time I spent with close, desperate conversation with my Father in Heaven is priceless. During the past 20.5 months, I've learned many lessons about who I am, as a person. Who Brittany Lynn truly is, deep down inside, and who I can be as an eternal companion to a young man who has learned all the same lessons as I have. We've just learned them in completely different situations, a different culture, and in a different language, but the truth is, our Savior and Father have been growing us in the same direction for many years, this growth started before the mission. I love reading the emails and comparing our stories, just to find that the moral of the story, the lesson for us, is identical...it's just the details leading up to it that are different. The trials, tribulations, and countless occurances that brought us to our knees in desperate prayer and pleading for comfort before the mission, truly were for our good. We have grown so much closer to one another despite the thousands of miles between us in the past 20 months and I know I can speak for Troy and for myself when I say, "We wouldn't change a single day, tear, or moment for the anything this world has to offer us." For the relationship we have with our Father and His Beloved Son, our Big Brother is one that cannot be taken away from us. No man wishing harm, no woman speaking ill word can take what we have together and have built upon the rock of the Gospel of Jesus Christ away from us. It is a fire that burns deep inside, and we, together, will be the keepers of our flame. In the next 3.5 months, Troy is determined to stay focused, strong, and humble as he finishes up his work as a servant of Jesus Christ. I am working on school, the wedding, and supporting him in every way that I can. Don't worry, he's nowhere near getting "trunky" as some say. He loves the work and is so focused. And because of that, he has been blessed with an answer to a prayer, and has shared that answer with me. I, too, have received my own witness several times concerning our decision to be sealed in the Holy Temple not only for time, but all of eternity. It's so right!!
We are grateful to all of you who so willingly supported us, even with our baggage. Especially Kayleen and Marvin Golightly and Bishop and Greta Woodward!! You are great examples and have truly helped us become the people we are. We acknowledge your tremendous role in our lives and we're forever grateful for your "open arm policy". The support from our families as well as from our friends, thank you all! Marv and Lynda, you're great! Thanks for the emails of love and support for both of us from all of you who have taken time out of your busy lives to drop us a line. Thank you all so much! and please, save the date, because we want to spend our special day with all of you!!!
I'll be writing again soon! In 3.5 months, he'll be sitting right here with me writing this blog!! Garsh...I'm so excited!! Love ya'all bunches and miss you TONS!!!
Brit
PS Troy, I love you! Grand canyons, mountain ranges, and 18 wheelers. Deep ravines, raging rivers, and dump trucks. You ARE that man!!!
