After much prayer and patience, and through many emails, I was able to find a home that I felt fit what Troy and I wanted and needed in a home. Since the price of houses is so low, we decided it would be better to buy rather than to rent.
The house I chose, with the help of Troy of course (though it was limited, since he is a missionary after all), is a 3 bedroom 1.5 bath with a partially finished basement and a room for food storage (YAH!!).
This is the view from the street, but remember this was taken in April. The trees have green leaves and some flowers (and a few of the 100 rosebushes) have bloomed.
By the way, if anybody would like a rosebush, we'll allow you to dig them up next year!!! As many as you want! ;)
This is the dining room the way it was when I bought the house. The seller agreed to put new flooring in the dining room, kitchen, laundry room, and upstairs bathroom.
After the flooring was laid and the things that we'd acquired before Troy left were moved in, it looks so different!!!
It's hard to see the flooring, but it is vinyl that has the look of marble tiles.
These are the pictures of the living room when I purchased the home, this room looks quite different as well.
And the living room with our furniture and belongings. The pictures on the wall are leather murals Troy purchased in Mexico. The one above the couch is a painting of the Myan indians and the tree of life with the words, "Mision Mexico Tuxtla Gutierrez-la mejor mision (the best mission)."
The one above the chair is the Indian holding the Myan calendar on his shoulders and kneeling on the temple. Troy purchased this one on my birthday and had a letter written to me on the back.

Well, that's all of the pictures that I have so far. I am still working on the bathroom, finishing the paint in the laundry room. The one bedroom upstairs still needs a coat of paint. I love this home and I am so grateful to have it. It is a blessing that Troy and I will always treasure. I pray for each and every one of you that you might be safe and happy always.
We love you!!
